FORT FREMONT HISTORY SERIES

A lecture series was presented at the Saint Helena Branch Beaufort County Library while the Fort Fremont Preserve was closed during construction of the History Center. The historical lectures were canceled during the COVID-19 closure. We provide this list of topics as examples of our educational offerings.

  • Bringing History to Life, Fort Fremont Dioramas by Dennis Cannady, Master Modeler
  • Preserving Fort Fremont Artifacts by Mr. Roderick Kesting
  • History of U.S. Coast Defense by Mr. Theodore Panayotoff

Beaufort County Schools (Plus)

We are looking for an Education Liasion to join the Board.

With our former liason, we developed curricula for several grade levels. Please contact us if your class would like to include an element of local Spanish American War history.

Scouting Opportunities

Several troops and individual Eagle Scouts have already participated in projects at the Fort.

Whether helping at a clean-up day or building a railing or painting over graffiti, our youth can earn badges and contribute to the betterment of the Fort.

Friends of Fort Fremont is incorporated as a 501(c)3 charitable organization to raise awareness, educate the public, and encourage participation in the continuance and improvement of the Preserve.
